- Uta Maduni — beautiful and packed to the brim. I dare you not to find souvenirs and inspiration inside these walls
- National Museum of Kenya — leave at least an hour to wander around. An incredible collection
- Cultiva restaurant — farm-to-fork food and a very pretty setting with fab baby changing facilities
- Roadside bead shopping — a must-do for unique souvenirs
- The Saturday farmers market in Karen — great local produce and atmosphere
- Visit the African Heritage House — a stunning architectural landmark
- Anti-malaria medication is recommended — check your airline’s health requirements, visit gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice for vaccination and entry guidance, and speak with your GP or a qualified medicinal herbalist well in advance
- Drink lots of water — stay hydrated, especially on safari
